I know a guy from Finland who’s a student in Sapporo and he says the summer has been quite rainy, but it looks like you had great weather on your trip. I know what you mean by reluctance to try new things on your own. When I’m in a foreign place, it’s harder to take initiative by myself and I feel self-conscious about being the only one in the store or restaurant.
